TN Government School Admission 2025-26 Started: The admission of students in Government schools for the academic year 2025-26 across Tamil Nadu has commenced from March 1. Parents can now enroll their children in the nearest government school starting today. The Tamil Nadu government has instructed teachers and officials in the school education department to promote welfare schemes and enhance student enrollment. Enrollment for students in the class-1 has officially begun.

The education department of Tamil Nadu has directed all headmasters and district education officers to ensure that arrangements are made for the enrollment of thousands of students currently attending Anganwadi centers in Tamil Nadu. Specifically, children who have completed five years of age should be facilitated in joining the nearest government school for Class 1.
Age Eligibility for Admission to Government Schools in Tamil Nadu in 2025-26
Children who have completed 5 years of age are eligible to apply for admission to class 1 in any Government school in Tamil Nadu. Additionally, children seeking to transfer from private schools to a nearby Government school may also submit their applications.

The primary document required for children applying for admission to government schools in Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2025-26 is the Birth Certificate. Additionally, applicants must provide a caste certificate, proof of residence for parents or guardians, and an income certificate issued by local authorities, among other necessary documents.
